Stumped by a Crossword? Find out what goes between chapter and verse!

Once upon a time in a small village, there lived an old priest who loved to read and study the Bible. He spent endless hours poring over the scriptures, trying to unravel their mysteries. One day, while reading a particularly perplexing passage, he came across the word “colon” in the footnotes.

Puzzled, he asked the wise village elder for help. The elder was a big fan of crossword puzzles and immediately recognized the word as a possible answer to a clue he had seen before: “This goes between chapter and verse.”

As he explained the connection to the priest, the elder drew a long line between the words “chapter” and “verse” on a nearby chalkboard. He then placed a symbol resembling two small dots on top of each other in the middle of the line.
