Can’t solve this crossword clue? Meet the mysterious Styx figure - ACHILLES
Styx figure

Once upon a time in ancient Greece, there was a river named Styx. This river was believed to separate the land of the living from the underworld. The only way to cross the river Styx and enter the underworld was by paying Charon, the ferryman.

However, there was one man who managed to cross the river Styx twice and live to tell the tale – Achilles. He was a legendary hero who was believed to be invincible, except for his heel, which was his only weakness.

During his first trip across the river, Achilles had gone to the underworld to seek advice from the prophet Teiresias on how to win the Trojan War. On his second trip, he went to retrieve the spirit of his friend, Patroclus, who had died in battle.

From that moment on, Achilles became known as a Styx figure, as he had passed over the river twice and lived to tell the tale. And so, the answer to the crossword clue “Styx figure” is none other than Achilles, the great and fearless hero of ancient Greece.
