Skylight, e.g.

Once upon a time there was a little girl named Skylar who loved to gaze up at the stars every night. She wished she could see them even better from her bedroom, so she asked her dad for a skylight.

However, her dad explained that a skylight wouldn’t work in her room because of the way the ceiling was designed. Instead, he suggested they install a window on the roof, which would allow Skylar to look up at the stars whenever she wanted.

Skylar was thrilled with the idea and helped her dad install the window on the roof. Now she could lie in bed at night and look up at the stars and feel like she was sleeping under the sky.

Years later, when Skylar was grown up and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, she came across a clue that reminded her of her childhood window. The clue was “Skylight, e.g.” and the answer was “WINDOW.” She smiled at the memory of her dad’s solution to her star-gazing problem and filled in the answer with fondness.

From that day on, whenever Skylar saw a window or a skylight, she couldn’t help but think of her own special window on the roof and the memories it brought her.
