Once upon a time, there was a talented artist named Jack who loved to create beautiful signs using various materials such as wood, paint, and ink. Jack’s signs were highly sought after by businesses and homes because of their distinct and eye-catching designs.
One day, while Jack was creating a sign for a local café, he realized that he had run out of ink. He frantically searched his studio for more ink but couldn’t find any. He was worried that he wouldn’t be able to finish the sign in time for the café’s grand opening.
As he was looking for alternative sources of ink, he remembered a trick his grandfather had taught him. He went outside and searched for a prickly plant called pokeberry. Jack remembered that the berries from this plant could make a beautiful purple ink.
Jack quickly harvested some of the pokeberries and mashed them up to create the ink. He used this to finish the sign, which turned out to be one of his best creations yet. Everyone at the café loved the sign and were impressed by the creativity and resourcefulness of Jack.
From then on, Jack always kept a stock of pokeberries in his studio, just in case he ran out of ink. And whenever he saw the word “Sign” in a crossword puzzle, he always grinned and thought back to the day he used pokeberry ink to complete the perfect sign.
