See 38-Across

Mark was an avid crossword puzzle solver. He spent hours every day trying to solve the most challenging clues, often challenging enough to even stump him. One day, while working on a particularly difficult crossword puzzle, he came across the clue “See 38-Across“. He was completely stumped and for the life of him, he couldn’t figure it out.

But then he remembered something that his grandma had told him when he was a kid. She used to say, “Life is just a series of gains and losses. It’s up to you to find the balance.” Suddenly, it clicked. 38-Across was “Losses“, and the answer to the original clue was “Gains“.

It made perfect sense. We all have our share of gains and losses, and the trick is to strike a balance between them. Mark felt a sense of accomplishment as he filled in the answer, and imagined his grandma smiling down on him. From that day on, he approached each clue with a new perspective and found himself solving puzzles faster than ever before.
