A province located in the Piedmont region of Italy, famous for its red wine made from the Barbera grape. Its capital is known for its beautiful historic center and Gothic-style cathedral. Home to several castles and fortresses, and bordered by the provinces of Alessandria, Cuneo, and Turin. Has a population of approximately 220,000 people, and known for its picturesque hills and vineyards. Hosts an annual wine festival in September, and part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site “Vineyard Landscape of Piedmont: Langhe-Roero and Monferrato”. Formerly part of the Duchy of Savoy.
