Pops

As a detective solving the mystery of the crossword clue ‘Pops’, my first thought was of course the term for fathers. However, the spaces available in the crossword didn’t fit this definition. The word completely fit the bill as it not only has the same meaning as ‘pops’ – a fizzy drink that pops when opened – but also matches the spaces perfectly.
