Participate in a joint session?

Once upon a time, there was a group of friends who enjoyed solving crossword puzzles together. One day, they came across a clue that said “Participate in a joint session?” and they were stumped. They went back and forth trying to think of ideas, but nothing seemed to fit.

Just as they were about to give up and move on to the next puzzle, one of the friends suddenly had an idea. He said, “Wait a minute, guys. ‘Joint session’ could also mean smoking a joint together!”
