Once upon a time, there was a small village nestled deep in a dense forest. The inhabitants of this village had been living there for generations, and they had adapted to their environment in unique ways. They knew the land like the back of their hands and had developed their own customs and traditions.

One day, a new visitor arrived in the village. He was a botanist named Dr. Smith, who had come to study the plant life in that region. Dr. Smith noticed that some of the plants in the region were found only in that particular area and nowhere else in the world. He was surprised by this and asked the villagers, “What is the name for these plants that are native to this region?”

The villagers smiled, and one of them replied, “We call them ENDOMIC plants. They have been here for centuries, and they have adapted to our environment perfectly. They are a part of our identity and culture.”

Dr. Smith was fascinated by this explanation and realized that the word ENDEMIC also applied to the villagers themselves. They were the native people of that region, and they too had adapted to their environment perfectly. They were ENDEMIC to that land.

From that day on, Dr. Smith always remembered the word ENDEMIC whenever he encountered something that was native to a particular region. He knew that just like the plants and the people in that village, every culture and every ecosystem has its own unique ENDEMIC elements that make it special.
