“I can’t even!” … or a hint to the answers to the starred clues

Once upon a time, a young woman named Claire loved crossword puzzles. She spent hours filling in the blank squares with carefully chosen words that fit both across and down. One day, she came across a particular crossword puzzle that had a clue that read, “I can’t even!“–but there were no intersecting letters to solve it.

Claire racked her brain, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t come up with an answer. All the other clues were solved except for that one. She even asked her crossword-loving friends for help, but they were just as stumped as she was.

She felt like screaming, “I can’t even!“–but then it hit her. That was the answer! “There are no words!” she shouted, jumping up from her seat. She filled it in, and the rest of the puzzle fell into place.

Claire realized that sometimes, you need to think outside the box to solve a problem. The answer was a hint all along, pointing to the fact that some things in life simply can’t be put into words. And sometimes, the best solution is to accept that fact and move on.
